About Pawprints of portales rescue
Pawprints of Portales Rescue was founded in June 2020 by Bree, a military spouse, stationed at Cannon Airforce Base. Bree saw the lack of support and resources locally for homeless and abandoned cats in Portales, NM. So, Pawprints of Portales Rescue was created to help fill that void and began rescuing, providing veterinary care, and adopting out cats. When it was time for Bree and her family to move on to a new duty station, Bobbi Vandyke took over as president of the organization in July of 2022. Over the years, Pawprints of Portales Rescue has expanded and now rescues all animals including cats, dogs, Guinea pigs, and exotic pets. Currently, Pawprints of Portales rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization located in Clovis, New Mexico. This organization is fully run by a network of volunteers and fosters that help save animals in need. Almost 100% of our animals are pulled off the euthanasia list from the City of Clovis Animal Shelter. We provide medical assistance and care to injured, neglected, and abandoned animals. For the animals that come into our rescue, they are placed in safe, nurturing foster homes to prepare them for adoption. We are dedicated to match each animal with the very best forever home. We are also committed to support Clovis, Portales and the surrounding communities by providing transport to low cost spay/neuter clinics, access to pet food resources, and helping both pets and their owners during times of hardship. Pawprints of Portales Rescue also works closely with other local rescues to provide the best care for all animals and their humans in our community.

Foster: Becoming a foster family is one of the most rewarding ways that you can make a difference in a pet’s life. To keep rescuing, we need foster homes to provide safe and loving environments until a forever home is found. Since we do not have a brick-and-mortar facility, the number of animals we have at any given time is a direct reflection of how many foster families are available. Having our animals in foster homes, gives them the love and attention they deserve as well as gives them the care they may need physically and/or emotionally. Ask to join our foster network today!
Volunteer: We are constantly looking for volunteers for various tasks. - Transporting animals for vet visits or picking up supplies. - Assisting with adoption events, special events or fundraising events. - Community Outreach such as low cost shot clinics. Contact us today for volunteer opportunities.
Additional Ways to Help: Our organization assists animals in our community as well as their owners. Without your support, this would not be possible. - Give a monetary charitable donation through Cashapp or Venmo - Purchase items from our Amazon Wishlist. - Donate food, gently used towels, blankets or fleece. - Join our Facebook community and share! Spread the word about our wonderful adoptable animals!
